Welcome to the homepage of Ashesh Prasann, Ph. D. candidate in Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics (AFRE) at Michigan State University.

As a development economist, I am interested in quantifying the effects of public and private interventions that aim to stabilize negative economic shocks experienced by rural workers. My job market paper studies the general equilibrium spillovers generated by India's employment guarantee scheme - the world’s largest public-works program - in labor markets of unassigned areas. Using field data from a randomized trial in Nigeria, my other papers estimate the impact of malaria testing and treatment on physical activity and agricultural labor productivity.

I am on the 2015-2016 job market and will be available for interviews at the APPAM Fall meeting in November and the annual AEA/ASSA meeting in San Francisco in January.
